PT Tips: Cardio Exercises For Body Toning – does it work?
1. Doing regular cardio exercises are a great way to get in shape and lose some weight. Can cardio exercise also help with all over body toning and if so what types of cardio exercise work best (running, HIIT, gym workout machines etc)?
If you’re untrained, cardio exercise will initially work great to build muscle and tone your body. What type of cardio you choose to do is up to you, but if your goal is to tone your body I recommend combining cardio exercise with strength exercises in a circuit style workout format.
2. For someone who has an average level of fitness how much time should be spent doing cardio exercises per week for body toning.
If you’re not a beginner but already at an average level of fitness, cardio should not stand alone if your goal is body toning. Combine cardio exercise with strength exercise 3-5 times per week and don’t forget that you need to stick to a healthy diet to see results.
